About KMT Architects

KMT Architects is a Dallas-based collaborative Design firm, specializing in architecture, interiors and graphics for commercial, multi-family, office, retails, healthcare, hospitality, and sustainable design projects. Ken M. Tse, AIA founded KMT Architects with the goal of delivering high-quality, innovative designs to domestic and international clients in a wide range of disciplines, including commercial, residential, hospitality, government, education, healthcare, religious, multi-family, development and LEED services.

Ken M. Tse, AIA, LEED AP
Principal & Founder

Ken has over 35 years of experience in a diverse range of architectural disciplines. His past experiences include the role of Vice President and Senior Designer at one of the nation's largest architectural firms; responsible for the design of many large-scale and high-profile projects totaling over five million square feet throughout the United States and internationally.

Ken is the President of the Asian American Contractors Association of Texas, an International Business Committee member of the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce, member of DFW Asian American Citizens Council, Advisory Diversity Task Force for the City of Dallas, and the Advisory Council Board for the School of Architecture at Mississippi State University. Ken is a Registered Architect in the State of Texas and is a LEED Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Beyond architecture and international consulting, Ken practices the principle of business as a mission, serving the local communities and internationally.  Ken is the Executive Director of New Hope Compassion, a nonprofit organization helping with education, life-skills training, and community projects for the disadvantaged groups in the underserved regions of East Asia and locally.

Jaynelle T. Ip, ASID
Interiors Principal

As the principal of JTI Interiors, Inc. since 1994, Jaynelle Ip, ASID offers a depth of design experience and capability which is reflected in the diversity of projects completed both domand international. From inception to installation, she has coordinated such projects that include restaurants, salons/spas, corporate offices, medical offices, and private single home residences as well as mid and high rise residences.

Jaynelle is firmly committed to the principle that the design of space deeply influences the quality of life whether in a work environment or a resident. This philosophy has guided her to not only tailor each unique space to meet the client’s vision, but also to educate the client with the best solutions aesthetically and functional that could meet current trends and add value. Jaynelle is a registered Interior Designer in Texas and is a member of the American society of Interior Designers.

Katrina Jong
Designer

Katrina Jong specializes in graphic design and web creator.  She is a graduate of The University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor's degree in Arts and Technology.  Katrina also received Graphic Design certification from Southern Methodist University.  Katrina's experience includes product design, 3D modeling, web design, and digital marketing.  Her passion is to be a creative contributor to her client's needs as well as help guide them into brand new design directions.

Gerry W. Hicks, AIA
Collaboration Partner

Gerry Hicks has over 38 years experience on various large and small commercial and institutional projects nationally. The majority and most recent experience is on healthcare projects. As project manager, he is responsible for overall project implementation for the entire design team, beginning with initial programming through owner occupancy. He works directly with the client to help establish project goals and objectives and insures incorporation throughout the duration of the project.

Dwight G. Wiggins, Architect, LEED AP
Architect/Construction Services

Dwight has over 35 years of successful experience in every phase of the design and construction process. Although he developed as a designer and production architect, his main role has been on the construction project end of large healthcare developments. He has experience in the construction process from both the architect and owner perspective. The expertise he developed includes; coordination, collaboration, negotiation with the builders, observation and similar construction services. He is experienced in many types of contract arrangement.

For over 25 years he was VP and served as construction contract manager for the largest architectural firm in Dallas. He studied architecture at the University of Texas in Austin. He has been a registered architect in Texas since 1979.
