This minimally invasive surgery suite added 8 state of the art operating rooms to its current 34-operating-rooms on the 5th floor of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The new operating rooms are 600 square feet each. Although the operating rooms have a universal design for minimally invasive surgery, some of the rooms feature transplant, trauma/ortho and telesurgery capabilities. The total area of the new surgery suite will be 14,500 square feet. Other phases of work involved in the project included the relocation and expansion of the 13,300-square-foot non-invasive cardiology program, relocation of the cardiac intensive care unit to the new Saperstein Tower and conversion of existing space into post anesthesia care unit.
